30. Minnie and Roman Castevet (Rosemary's Baby)
Why I Like Them: Ooooh baby, now we're getting to the good ones. If you haven't heard of the Castevets I can't blame you...they're from an obscure horror film shot almost over thirty years ago. Based on the book of the same name, Rosemary's Baby was a fantastic piece of work and I highly recommend it to everyone. At any rate, the Castevets make the countdown EASILY for the role they took in this work. They cause a young girl to jump to her death, they strike an innocent man blind, bring about the ruin of a personal friend of Rosemary, and ultimately drug Rosemary so Satan himself may rape her and bring his only son into the world. All this, and throughout the film they seem like they are nothing more then an overly friendly older couple with almost nothing sinister about them at all. Evil never seemed as innocent.

29. Lucifer (The Prophecy)
Why I Like Him: You may have loved him as Aragorn, but until you see him as Satan himself you have not seen the true depth of Viggo Mortensen. Oh, it gives me shivers just thinking about his portrayal in this movie. In a movie where he's up against Walken as another villain Mortensen holds his own, and damn sure convinces me he's the Prince of Darkness. Because he has too many good quotes not to put a few of them I'm giving him a couple...cause they're all gold.
Gabriel: "This war is mine!''
Lucifer: Your war is arrogance. That makes it evil. And that's mine.
Gabriel: Lucifer. Sitting in your basement. Sulking about your break up with the boss. You're nothing.
Lucifer: Time to come home, Gabriel.
Lucifer: Heaven will become just another hell and two hells is one hell too many. I can't have that.
Lucifer: Other angels have made this war because they hate you, you and all humans. God has put you in his grace and pushed them aside. They're desperate. They've never been able to conquer the other loyal angels, and so this war has remained in stalemate for thousands of years. And while this state of affairs endures no soul can meet its god. Your parents, and their parents, and so on from the beginning lie still in wormy earth. Of course, some of them do come to me eventually, for while heaven may be closed I am always open, even on Christmas.
Lucifer: I was the first angel, loved once above all others...
[singing]
Lucifer: But like all true love... one day it withered on the vine...
Lucifer: Little Tommy Daggett. How I loved listening to your sweet prayers. Then you would hop into bed, afraid that I was hiding under it...and I was!
28. Father Alexander Anderson (Hellsing)
Why I Like Him: As much as it may vex some to see another Anime villain on the countdown, and as much as his rabid fandom irritates me I can hardly deny giving Alexander Anderson his proper due. One of the most popular Anime villains at this time, if you go to any convention you'll see massive amounts of people dressed in Anderson costumes carrying around their little plastic knives. This guy has a number of things going for him: regeneration, cool powers that seem to stem from the use of Biblical script, decent one liners, and a conviction/badassery that most the villains on this countdown would find hard to surpass. This guy had both his arms blown off at one point and had taken a shot in the head and still came at Alucard wielding one of his knives in his mouth. You don't see that kinda dedication to a cause nowadays, and hopefully in the coming next season we get to learn a bit of Anderson's back story.
"I am the will of God, messenger of the divine punishment of Heaven." —Father Alexander Anderson
27. Raistlin Majere (Dragonlance)
Why I Like Him: Few words can I say to describe the utter coolness of Raistlin Majere. One of the greatest villains of Dungeons and Dragons, this evil doer of the Dragonlance series really sets a bench mark as far as villainy goes. He has so much in print about him it's difficult to concentrate on any specific thing or event involving him, but all his acts culminated in his rise to power for an eventual attempt at making himself a god. Betraying good and evil alike in his climb to immortality, Raistlin proved himself to be quite the split tongued serpent and a natural choice to appear on this countdown.
"'Weep, Palin,' Raistlin said softly. 'Weep as I wept once, long, long ago. Then you will realize, as I did, that it does no good. No one hears you, sobbing in the night alone.'" —Raistlin Majere
26. Ganon/Ganondorf (The Legend of Zelda)
Why I Like Him: Much like Bowser, Ganondorf has headlined numerous games/cartoons/books and a multitude of other miscellaneous media outlets as Link's #1 villain, and he's been doing it since the early 80s. Unlike Bowser, however, Ganon has a sense of style, class, and character that other video games' villains lacked well up until the mid 90s. I've been waiting for quite awhile to see if a Legend of Zelda movie ever comes out, because it would probably be one hell of a film, or at least satisfy the Zelda fanboy that lurks in all the Nintendo fans.
Ganondorf: My country lay within a vast desert. When the sun rose into the sky, a burning wind punished my lands, searing the world. And when the moon climbed into the dark of night, a frigid gale pierced our homes. No matter when it came, the wind carried the same thing... Death. But the winds that blew across the green fields of Hyrule brought something other than suffering and ruin. I coveted that wind, I suppose. It can only be called fate... That here I would again gather the three with the crests... That I should lay my hand on that which grants the wishes of the beholder... That when power, wisdom, and courage come together, the gods would have no choice but to come down... The power of the gods... The Triforce! He who touches it will have whatever he desires granted! Already, the crest of wisdom is mine... All that remains...
[the crest of courage glows on the back of Link's hand]
